I usually start my day opening an energy drink and just taking small sips to make it last a while. But I’ve recently read something suggesting that the amount of energy received isn’t relative to the immediate amount consumed, but instead, the total overall amount amount consumed. In other words- I’m wondering if I just drank an entire energy drink in the morning, would it last as long and give me the same amount of energy as taking small sips occasionally? Or am I misunderstanding?

If I were you, I wouldnt take energy drinks. They aren’t particularly healthy. But obviously, it does depend on hwo you consume it. If you consume it over an thirty minutes, that my personal reccomendation for drinking them. Chugging them doesnt make much difference.
However, if you sip it over an hour or two, its not doing anything really, I mean, itll give you slightly more focus then normal, but an energy drink isn’t designed to energise you all day, instead, its more of a short term solution. Increase your natural sugar levels. Tennis players eat a banana during play to recieve a boost of energy. Try having them if you prefer, digesting it will take longer, giving you a steady amount of sugar for a good two hours

Personally I see your moderate stance as common sense. On five hour energy shots, it suggests to take half the shot first to see how it affects you, then take the other half after a couple hours. I think pacing yourself the way you are is wise, and you shouldn’t change that routine.
